RENO: MORE PROGRESS
Here is where its at now. bathroom and foyer are almost done. Next is windows, patio door, floors, kitchen…….cant wait to eat food without drywall dust in it…Dinner party anyone?
RENO: MAKING PROGRESS
So these are old now but I wanted to get the blog caught up on the project without skipping anything major.
PLAYBACK
I wanted to show off a cover shoot I did, and I’m always looking for excuses to shoot some video with my D3s, sooooo…. Man it’s weird talking to a camera. I mean, at least when it’s recording you. This was the first take, so it’s got some funny awkward things in it (and the colour’s off). Watch for the Vanna White hands and the “boom”…..

RENO: BATHROOM
More reno pics. Carilynn is in China for work so I thought it was a good time to destroy the bathroom. Its the only shower in the house leaving me sponge bathing in the basement. Maybe thats a bit of an over share….
And an overall shot to compare to before….
RENO: SMASHY TIME
Title speaks for itself….
RENO: BEFORE
So we have our new house and are comfortably moved into the basement….wait…the basement? Yes, that’s right. The comforts of Carilynn’s and my new home are almost identical to that of my first pad when I was 16 (I should post some photos of that place, that would be a trip) complete with all the trimmings; concrete and linoleum floors, drop ceiling, tinny little windows…
It’s all part of the master plan, the big reno that will change the way we live. Somewhere along the line we got this idea in our heads that we were both handy, and smart investors. We will soon see….
Here are some before smash photos.
INTERESTING GUYS
A couple shots I did for the recent issue of Carleton Magazine. The fun part about shooting for Carleton is the super interesting people you get to meet. These guys were in the running for “Best Lecturer” in the Academic Idol competition put on by TVO. Learn more here. Anyway, I liked these shots so here they are….Also I find the word lecturer funny to say. Lecturer….lecturer.
PRIM AND PROPER…ISH
This is kind of old but I still find it funny. After making them sit still and act “proper” for a formal photo we let these Elmwood School girls let loose before letting them loose.
Acidental Art
I’m sure if you went to any artists studio and took a photo of their work space you would get something like this. Quite a few months back I did a shoot for Ottawa Magazine that put me at the studio of artist Sherry Tompalski. On the floor was a large drop cloth that caught all the spatter and what not from her painting. Anyway, I took a shot of a small section of it and got this. Its been sitting around on my computer because I didnt know what to do with it. Really its Sherry’s anyway.
EXTREME RANDOM
Ok these are some totally random images that are floating around homeless on my computer. Cant bring myself to toss them out and they cant be categorized…..I think I just realized that i need to create a “random photo I cant bring myself to toss” folder.
